Un superbe but de Massimo Bolognino à vingt secondes de la fin de la finale a permis aux Eagles Napoli de remporer le titre européen pour la deuxième fois de leur histoire. Un superbe succès pour une équipe qui n'était pas du tout favorite puisqu'elle figurait parmi les six équipes invitées à compléter le tableau après la date limite des inscriptions. On retiendra aussi le superbe parcours de Mattersburg (finaliste) alors que Reggio Emilia et Pise étaient les demi-finalistes.

A superb goal by Massimo Bolognino in the last 20 seconds of the final offered the continental title to the Eagles Napoli. The Italians were surprising winners as they were not part of the 26 teams who registered in due time. They were invited to fill the field of 32 teams and had a strong role of outsider in the tournament. The second place of Mattersburg and the semi-finals of Reggio Emilia and Pisa will also be remembered!

The German Team Championships 2009 with the qualifing for the EuroCup in Tournai will take place on June 20-21 in Schwerte (next to Dortmund). Participating teams will be titleholder SF SW Hitdorf, the host club TSL Dortmund (with three teams), Sparta Spreeathen, BSC Schwalbach, Borussia Bergkamen and TSG Rain 1970.

Quelques infos sur les équipes qui veulent se qualifier pour la coupe d'Europe.

Italie: ACS Perugia a remporté la coupe nationale, ce qui lui vaut un ticket pour Tournai 2009. Idem pour les joueurs d'ASD Reggio Emilia qui a décroché le titre national au terme du championnat de Série A. Les tenants du titre européen, le Black & Blue Pisa, est également qualifié d'office pour le tournoi.

Angleterre: le championnat national des clubs était le critère principal pour qualifier des équipes pour la coupe d'Europe. English Premier League et North East TFA ont terminé aux deux premières places et se qualifient. TSPA White Star et Yorkshire Phoenix font partie de la liste des réserves.

Espagne: le Real Murcia est déjà certain de se qualifier via le classement mondial.

Austria: le TFC Mattersburg est en tête du classement mondial et a décroché le titre national. Deux raisons suffisantes pour leur permettre de se qualifier.

Belgique: SC Charleroi (champion) et JSC Rochefort (deuxième) sont certains de jouer la coupe d'Europe. L'AS Hennuyer et sans doute le SC Stembert peuvent se qualifier via le classement mondial.

Certains équipes d'autres pays devraient bientôt confirmer leur présence C'est le cas pour le TFC Wiener Neustadt et le TSC Royal 78 (Autriche), Turia (Espagne), FTC Issy-les-Moulineaux (France) et Cardiff San Siro (Wales). Il y a de bonnes chances de voir aussi prochainement des équipes grècques, néerlandaises, françaises et allemandes parmi les inscrits. En espérant qe d'autres pays suivent le mouvement.

Some news about the teams who qualified for the Europa Cup.

Italy: ACS Perugia are the cup winners. Therefore they qualify for the Europa Cup 2009. The team of ASD Reggio Emilia is the italian national champion. As Pisa is the holder of the european title, these teams are sure to qualify for Tournai 2009.

England: the national league for club was the main criteria to qualify teams for the Europa Cup. English Premier League and North East TFA came on top of the table and qualified. TSPA White Star and Yorkshire Phoenix will come in the substitutes list.

Spain: the Real Murcia is already sure to qualify with the FISTF rankings.

Austria: TFC Mattersburg is still number 1 in the world and took the national title in Austria. Therefore they are sure to qualify for Tournai 2009.

Belgium: SC Charleroi (champion) and JSC Rochefort (runner-up) are sure to play the EC. AS Hennuyer and probably SC Stembert can still qualify through the FISTF rankings.

Some more teams are likely to register soon. TFC Wiener Neustadt and TSC Royal 78 (Austria), Turia (Spain), FTC Issy-les-Moulineaux (France) and Cardiff San Siro (Wales) will more than probably confirm their entries soon. There are good chances to see teams from the Netherlands, France, Germany (the german league has stil to be played), Greece and hopefully from many more countries signing up soon.

Pour les joueurs qui désirent un logement à très bon prix, les organisateurs recommandent l’Auberge de Jeunesse de Tournai (voir www.laj.be pour les détails). L’Auberge de jeunesse est un très bel établissement avec de nombreuses chambres de 4 à 10 lits. Le prix de la nuitée (petit déjeuner compris, ne dépassera pas 16 Euros par personne). L’Auberge de jeunesse se trouve à seulement 300 mètres du Hall CET et à 200 mètres du Beffroi.

For those who want very cheap beds, the organizers advise you the Tournai Youth Hostel (see www.laj.be for details). The Youth hostel is a very nice place with a lot of common rooms with up to eight beds. The price of the bed & breakfast will not exceed 16 Euros per night. The Youth Hostel stands at 300 meters from the CET Hall and 200 meters from the belfry.

Sports clothes will be compulsory for all competitors.

Sports shoes will be compulsory for everyone in the hall.

Half-time break will not exceed two minutes. Games will start after two minutes, even if some players are not ready.

When the games will be announced, there will be a maximum length of 3 minutes before the flick-off.

All games will be played on SAN SIRO tables.

Smoking will be forbidden in the hall.

Drinks and food will be available in the playing hall.

La tenue sportive sera obligatoire pour tous les participants.

Les chaussures de sport seront obligatoires pour toute personne entrant dans la salle.

A la mi-temps des matches, la pause sera de deux minutes exactement. Il est important que chaque joueur respecte ce délai car les matches reprendront après deux minutes, que les joueurs soient prêts ou pas.

Quand les matches seront annoncés, un délai maximum de trois minutes sera accordé avant le coup d’envoi.

Les matches se disputeront exclusivement sur des terrains SAN SIRO.

Il est interdit de fumer dans la salle.

Des boissons et une restauration rapide seront disponibles dans la cafétéria de la salle.

The venue: the CET hall

The CET is one of the most beautiful sports center in the province of Hainaut. The Hall has hosted some big events like professional basket-ball games and the Harlem Globe Trotters’ show as well as the tennis Davis Cup game between Belgium and Zimbabwé in 2004… and the FISTF World Cup 2005!

Most of the hotels are situated at less than one km from the hall. Players can therefore walk between the hall and their hotels. A large cafeteria, dressing rooms and big stands make the hall is very nice.

La salle: le Hall CET

Le Hall CET est un des plus beaux centres sportifs de la province de Hainaut. Il a accueilli un match de coupe Davis de tennis, des matches de division 1 de basket, un gala des Harlem Globe Trotters,… et la coupe du monde FISTF de football de table en 2005.

La plupart des hôtels se trouvent à moins d’un kilomètre de la salle. Les joueurs pourront donc s’y rendre à pied. Une large cafétéria, des vestiaires, et des tribunes donnent à la salle un prestige inégalé dans la région.

The city of Tournai

Tournai is a wonderful city with a very famous past. The city has many assets to organize a very nice event. People who like to go out will discover excellent restaurants, pubs and nightclubs as well.

Tournai is close to the French border but it’s very easy to get there. Players coming by plane can take a train to Tournai from both Brussels and Brussels South/Charleroi airports. It won’t take you more than one hour from Charleroi and about 90 minutes from Brussels. The Tournai train station is at one km only from the CET Hall.

The players who come for a longer period in Belgium will be invited to visit some of the country’s most beautiful places (Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, Gent). All these cities can be reached in one hour by car. There are also easy and cheap connections by train. Players who want to play table football and to practice before the tournament will have the possibility to play every day between 9.00 am and 9.00 pm in the club’s room of Templeuve United, at 10 km from the heart of Tournai.

La ville de Tournai

Tournai est une ville magnifique au passé historique prestigieux et disposant d'atouts grandioses pour l'organisation d'un événement de cette envergure. La ville compte aussi de nombreux restaurants, des cafés et des boîtes de nuit qui raviront les sorteurs.

Tournai est proche de la frontière française mais c’est très facile d’y accéder. Les joueurs venant en avion peuvent prendre un train à partir des aéroports de Bruxelles et de Bruxelles-Sud/Charleroi. Le trajet ne dure que 90 minutes depuis Bruxelles et 60 minutes depuis Charleroi. La gare de Tournai se situe à un km du Hall CET.

Les joueurs qui viennent pour une longue période en Belgique pourront visiter les plus belles villes du pays (Anvers, Bruges, Bruxelles, Gand,…). Toutes ces villes sont accessibles en une heure en voiture. Il y a aussi de nombreuses possibilités de voyager en train. Les joueurs qui veulent s’entraîner avant la coupe du monde pourront joueur tous les jours de 9 heures à 19 heures au local du Templeuve United, situé à 10 km du centre de Tournai.
